Leah's Field Day

The whole family spent last Wednesday at Leah's school, cheering her whole class on in her first field day. They marched onto the field waving American flags and stood for the National Anthem. It was all very exciting, and watching the events brought me right back to my childhood memories of my field days.

Laura, the ever faithful sister, spent the entire day with Leah. She really enjoys coming to the big girl school, and Leah's whole class treats her like one of their own.

Mom with the girls under the shade that my parents were so sweet to bring.
Leah & Ally getting ready for the three-legged race.

I was blown away by their coordination, and they flew down the field. My mom said that she had seen them practicing on her days in the classroom.

The whole class took a second to pose for a picture.
Here's Leah being coached by her teacher.
The Coach & ringleader for the whole show.

Waiting for the results for the obstacle race.
And the winners are....Mrs. G's class!!!! They were so excited.
It wore Leah out a little, but my Mom was so smart and brought cold washcloths for all of the children.
Clarissa taking the time to listen to one of Laura's many stories.

Joe with his big girl.

Cheering on her classmate, waiting her turn.
Mrs. G getting Gavin ready to run.
Coaching all the kids right before the tug of war.

Leah helping with an event the whole class was able to do called the flood. You had run back and forth, dunking the sponge in a trashcan of water, and whoever filled their bucket the most won.
My Dad with Laura.
The teachers in their event. Passing the water balloon.
The whole gang nearing the end of the day.

Here's a video of Leah's class in Tug of War. I was super impressed with their strength and determination. I think it's so cute how Leah can't stop jumping and spinning around from her overflowing excitement.

Me with my girl, it was such a great day.

After a long day in the sun, we finished up having an early dinner at Chick-fil-A. One last tip, did you know you can trade in the kid's toy/book for an ice cream cone? After being a Mom for 6 years, I just discovered that from a friend a few weeks ago. Better late than never I guess.
