Joe had and I sneaked away to Orlando for a grown up trip to Universal Studios. We had not been since they added all the Harry Potter stuff, so we were pretty excited to see the new attractions. I have to admit Hogwarts Castle looming in the distance was quite a site, they did an excellent job on recreating the movie images.
One of the new items that we were both looking forward to trying was the Butterbeer. We were not disappointed, and it tasted like a frothy creme soda, yummy! Next trip we're going to try the frozen version too.
Even though it was a Universal trip, we always try and squeeze a little Disney in somehow. We went to Downtown Disney and had a great dinner at Bongo's, Gloria Estefan's Cuban restaurant. It was a wonderful evening, the company, food and music were just perfect!
The next evening at Universal's City Walk we came across a big crowd staring at the stage with the Mignons from "Despicable Me". We had to see what all the commotion was about...
And then we saw this big guy...Shaquille O'Neal! It was the NBA All-Star weekend and they were broadcasting live from City Walk, pretty fun to see.
It was a fun weekend!
